Most of these images (except the first) will probably be 'Trace Bitmap'ed to make them easier to deal with in Flash and to reduce file sizes.
This is the main picture which the user will see when playing the game.
White Box
There follows a set of images I rendered in Bryce, and explanations of how I will use them in Flash
I am aware that there are a few problems with this scene, but the Bryce file I used to make it is corrupted and had to be trashed :,(
This next one is a very important mask, as it shows where the player is able to walk. First is the original render from Bryce, followed by a Photoshop edited version where I cut down the obstacles to their shapes on the floor. The player is then able to walk anywhere on the white area.
In this mask, only the objects which can be interacted with are visible. This mask will not actually be used in the game, but will be used beforehand in Photoshop to seperate these objects from the rest of the scene.
This mask gets lighter the further away from the camera it is. I can use this to create a perspective effect on the player, by adjusting their size according to the shade of the mask. Can you spot the deliberate mistake? I should have rendered this without the objects and obstacles, and only the floor visible.
The last mask gets lighter the higher it is. I may not need this but it could be useful if I make scenes which are not all flat, for example containing slopes, stairs or multiple levels.
